As an individual, I feel it is a state where individuals feel fulfilled in both their work and personal lives. It creates unique challenges for women, including balancing career demands with family responsibilities and personal interests. Achieving a healthy balance is important for productivity, reducing burnout, and overall well-being. Personally, I can summarize my thoughts as below on work-life balance:

At a time when getting a suitable placement from college was tough, joining the company was an enthusiastic decision. Initially, when I joined attractive traits of a company were not on my mind. I just wanted to explore myself and use the flow of knowledge gained from my graduate as well as master’s learning. Gradually, I realized working for eLEOPARD is a joyful decision. Work culture here has been a top-notch reason I am still persisting in this company. We work, we gossip, we travel, we enjoy, we dance, we exchange ideas, and we fight for the betterment of the company all the time.

Challenges faced and how I overcame

Work-Life balance has some unique challenges, a few of which are as below:

  • Support imbalance – It is about prioritizing commitments and finding a sustainable path to meet both work and personal obligations.
  • Hurdles – Regular calls during working hours to coordinate work with colleagues become a burden with the household.
  • Domestic Chores – Sometimes, there is undue pressure to prioritize family over career.
  • Motherhood penalty – With spouse also working and In-laws not living, at times my little daughter can be very teasing & stubborn.


I always believed, only I am responsible for handling my situation. This thought helped me to empower myself through different angles like time management, anxiety, burnout, and situational crisis. There is full cooperation from my managers and owners, respectively. Even if something is urgent, the deadlines are flexible to ensure I am at ease. The company’s focus is on result-oriented work rather than hours. The company has encouraged taking time off if not doing well. The HR team has always ensured I am also part of the fun activities, mentorships, or open communication while working from home.

Example to handle personal situation and work smoothly

Last year, in the month of July, my mother-in-law met with an accident, and her right hand was fractured. That was a big blow to the family, and her hand was plastered. She was advised bed rest for a month at least. Now the whole household work and my job were on my head. With my husband having a routine job timing set, I thought not to disturb him by asking special favor. He is very cooperative and supportive whenever he gets time.

I started scheduling my household work and office from morning till the office was over. My daughter Suvi was just one year old, so she also needed special attention. I handled the situation throughout the month with utter calm and ensured the company’s work was not hampered at all. And as a result the circumstances taught me a lesson of prioritizing work in daily life. Sometimes it is not important to focus on everything.

Many of my friends are working in different companies but I have hardly heard of this kind of work culture from them. Over the last eight years, there has been no reason for me to even think of switching companies.
